One of Rolls Royce’s most senior marketing executives, Richard Goodhead will be the guest speaker at a free networking evening I’m organising for Friar Gate Studios in Derby on Wednesday 21st September.
How can a small creative business build a clients base beyond its home town?
At Friar Gate Studios on Tuesday evening 5th July, I’ve arranged for four Derby small business owners to discuss their experiences establishing client bases across the UK and as far afield as the US and China – with some of the world’s leading multinationals.
“In the factory we make cosmetics; in the store we sell hope,” said Charles Revson, founder of Revlon.
He understood that customers are not motivated to buy products and services; they’re motivated to buy the benefits they promise. If you want to improve your marketing get into the habit of asking yourself “What’s the benefit to the customer of that?”
I’m delighted to be able to offer a limited number of one-to-one consultations for creative and cultural businesses based in Derby city. The sessions are part of QUAD’s Cultural Landscape Programme, supported by EMDA, and will be held on Wed 30th, Thurs 31st March, and 1st April at QUAD and last for two hours for each business.
The sessions will give business owners the opportunity to review with me their overall business strategy and marketing promotions, and look at ways to become more customer-focused and cost-effective.
I’m organising another networking event in Derby, and this time our speaker’s the chief exec of one of Derby’s most iconic brands. Whether you’re into the arts, business or both, don’t miss Hugh Gibson of Royal Crown Derby.
6pm, Thursday 31st March, Friar Gate Studios, Derby. Places free!
